About

Nasser Rahal

I advise banks, PSPs, exchange houses and virtual asset firms on payments modernization and digital-asset technology—from the rail connection to the board paper.

Based in Dubai, delivering across Canada and the GCC

I am based in Dubai and work across North American and GCC hours. Toronto remains a delivery presence for Canadian programmes; I am on site with client teams at the milestones that matter.

That Canada↔GCC operating model is not a travel story—it is how I have worked for years: Payments Canada Real-Time Rail and ISO 20022 in Toronto, and national-scale banking delivery in the Kingdom and the Emirates since the mid-1990s.

Where the experience comes from

At Bank of Montreal I owned target architecture and roadmaps for the Real-Time Rail and ISO 20022 programmes—Payments Canada connectivity, Interac e-Transfer, payment hubs, core banking, fraud, liquidity and operations.

At CGI I was accountable for about $50MM a year of banking programmes, a $20MM+ P&L and more than 100 people, plus technology governance on a $55MM strategic account and $400MM+ in outsourcing and integration deals.

Earlier work includes CIBC Capital Markets platform modernization, IBM KSA / Saudi Business Machines programmes spanning branch modernization and the national SADAD bill-payment platform, and founding architecture for tokenized real-world asset platforms, wallets and cross-border value networks.

How engagements run

Most clients start with a fixed-scope three-to-four-week assessment. You see the output before committing to architecture retainers or longer design authority.

I do not resell software. Engagements are contracted through fazeZERO entities in Canada and the UAE. That company also builds applications; I disclose that up front, and it will not bid on build work from my advice without your written consent.
